Birthday surprise and ramblings

Last week, Clancy turned 32! My dad needed to go down to Yakima anyway, so we decided we should all go and surprise him! The plan was to surprise him when he came home from work and take him to dinner. Well, that plan backfired when I called Clancy around 3 and he said, "It's going to be a long day....I will probably be stuck at work until 8 or 8:30."

Seriously???

Long story short, he didn't get home until 11, where we were all waiting to surprise him!
Since we didn't get to take him to dinner that night, we decided to stay the next day and then go to dinner after he got off work. That worked out much better! Plus, I got to see my sister both days!

We are officially moving to the Othello area this weekend. I am excited! I know one person down there, and another person has introduced herself via Facebook. Funny story, after she wrote me a message, I realized that I totally blog-stalk her. Haha!

Thought I would throw in some pictures because, really, that's the best part!

Here's to the last week of staying at my parents house! WOOT!!!

Never thought this would happen.

Remember how Clancy got a job in the Yakima area? Remember how we were right in the middle of moving down there? Just as we were making plans, Clancy had been in contact with another irrigation district about starting his career there. He hasn't been happy where he was and, without getting into too much detail, that district didn't really know what they were doing. If you ask me, the whole district is just messed up. I could go on and on, but I won't.

Friday, after meeting with this other district, they offered him a job.
A great job!
He is super excited and really looking forward to learning more from them.
Me?

I am.....hesitant.

While I am really happy for him, I am not thrilled about where we will be moving.
Ready?

OTHELLO.
ROYAL CITY.
That area.

Where, you say??

THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE.

"It will be fine! It can't be THAT bad," you say.
Remember, I am moving from Spokane, to Othello area.
Just to give you an idea...

Population:

Spokane= 203,276
Othello= 6,734
Royal City= 2,024

Kind of a big difference, eh?

Then I thought of my sister-in-law's (sisters-in-law?) who live in Frenchtown, MT and Glendive MT. Stats at those towns?

Frenchtown= 971 (!!!!)
Glendive=4,628

And they are very happy where they are! So if they can do it, I can do it......right???

Curious, we drove to Othello on Saturday and checked it out. I found a Super Walmart, so that makes me happy. Other than that, looks like I will be heading to Moses Lake, which is about a half hour away, for any other shopping (and couponing!).

The big challenge we face now is finding a place to live. Since it's not a huge town, I am guessing people don't move around as much as they do in Spokane. I have put the word out to the ONE person I know in the area, so hopefully someone will have something available soon!

Let the adventure begin!

Haircut time

Yesterday, I was brushing Livia's hair. She was complaining that it hurt. Of course it hurt. It was a huge rats nest!
So I asked her if I could cut it.
She said yes!
Bad idea.
I decided a trip to get haircuts was in order for both the girls.

Stella still has her cute faux hawk hair, so we decided we would leave hers alone.
She likes to brush it herself anyway.
Here you can see how long Livia's hair was before I got scissor happy.

Livia getting ready to have her very uneven hair fixed by a pro.

After!

Isn't she just the cutest model ever? She is such a poser! I just aim the camera at her and she instantly strikes a pose.

Gracie before

Her hair was getting loooooong!

After!

She wanted it much shorter, but I talked her out of it.

Notice the little ham peeking her head in both of Gracie's pictures???

PS Happy Birthday to my awesome mother-in-law! :)
